Coast Guard Auxiliary Operational Excellence "E" Ribbon

The Operational Excellence Program provides Coast Guard Auxiliary boat crews with a challenging opportunity to highlight their proficiency and skills through the completion of a series of evaluated scenarios. Boat crew members will receive a certificate of completion and the "E" Ribbon, Coxswains receive the "E" Ribbon and the Operational Excellence "E" decal for the Operational Facility.
The Coast Guard Auxiliary Excellence E ribbon will be issued to those team members who successfully complete published the "E" program tasks. This operational recognition program is not mandatory, and does not replace qualifications or certification. It is intended to give Auxiliarists certified in the Boat Crew Program an incentive to train and increase proficiency by working together as a highly trained and coordinated crew and to encourage additional Auxiliarists to offer their boats as Facilities.

Flotilla 33 has been a leader in the area of operations for many years thanks in no small part to the highly qualified members and the tireless efforts of the elected leadership. AUX 24567 received it's 1st Operational "E" during 2012, while AUX 27137 received it's 5th consecutive "E".

During the last 5-years a total of 11 Flotilla 33 members have received 23 separate Operational "E" Awards (some receiving multiple awards). The Flotilla 33 total of 23 "E" Awards is the most awarded to any of the nearly 100 Flotillas in District 5 Southern Region. The 23 "E" Awards received by Flotilla 33 members represent 25.3% of the 91 Awards presented.

Flotilla 33 recipients of the Operational "E' Award include Wally Dawson, Ian Duncan, Andy Ernst, Don Gallagher, Ed Hind, Wally Jachimski, Jim Lindahl, Brian McArdle, John Mill, Amy Thomas, & Jim Thomas.
