"COAST GUARD STATION MILFORD HAVEN ON THE NICE LIST," STATED SANTA CLAUS
Santa Claus recently met with Team members from U.S. Coast Guard Station Milford Haven. Santa and the Coast Guard Team were in Kilmarnock Virginia to participate in the Annual Christmas Parade. “This is our third year supporting Kilmarnock and the surrounding communities,” commented BM2 Matthew McGuire. “We are always amazed at the number of people that come out for this festive event.”
The Duty Crew from Station Milford Haven also brought along one of their rescue boats and decorated it with Christmas Lights for the parade. Members of U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 33 accompanied the rescue boat handing out treats and coloring book for the kids.
“Being in uniform, the kids are always surprised that we stop and talk to them for a few seconds,” said SN Erin Kalinay. “They see that we are not just the people that tell them they have to wear a life jacket.”
After the parade, Santa wanted to thank the Coast Guard Duty Crew for their service. “You know, I heard that you were going to be here again this year so I checked my list twice and I did not see anyone at Station Milford Haven on the naughty list.”
